BREAKING NEWS: Suspect Alexander Jones Escapes from Police Custody

MONDAY—Alexander “Zander” Jones, a local teen who has recently garnered attention for his obscene comments and actions, has escaped police custody while in transit to Emet’s Crossing County Jail. Jones is charged with counts of arson, fraud, burglary, defamation, and more.

What happened is unclear, but the incident draws a notable comparison to the death of Jones’ roommate, Isaac Hiro, a few days prior. The vehicle transporting Jones was found unmanned at the side of the road. The driver was found unconscious nearby and is currently recovering at Newbury Hospital. Police were notified of the incident when an unrelated vehicle came across the scene. It is unknown how much time passed between the incident and the discovery.

Alexander Jones’ current whereabouts are unknown. He was last seen wearing a tan prison jumpsuit. If you spot Jones, DO NOT APPROACH and instead notify the Emet’s Crossing Police Department.

This story is breaking and will be updated.

UPDATE 4:52 p.m: A figure that appeared to be Jones was seen near Mallow Way. He has a backpack. It is now possible that he is armed. Civilians are encouraged to stay away from the area.

UPDATE: 8:34 p.m: A thorough search of the noted area was conducted and Jones was not found. Police will continue searching in the surrounding areas.
