Health authorities announced Monday morning that bars and restaurants in Emet’s Crossing will be allowed to reopen without restrictions ahead of election day. Mayor Pete Fox of nearby Monmouth said Wednesday that he will allow restaurants to reopen indoors on October 30, but with a broad set of rules.
The reopening plan, announced by Emet’s Crossing officials last week, will allow restaurants in to open, but restaurants must abide by the rules of a self-certification program, according to a news release. The program documents the restaurant’s ability to meet all the requirements for indoor dining and bar operations and indoor dining operations requirements.
The process will provide restaurants with all the information and tools they need to prepare for the reopening of indoor dining. If we have a clear and safe way to move forward, restaurants have the chance to find a way not to have to close.
To help restaurants and bars prepare for indoor reopening, the ECCP is hosting a webinar that will provide an overview of guidelines for indoor dining. We will keep you informed as we learn more about other restaurants planning to reopen their indoor restaurants or bars.
Local resturanteur Mario Margaretti said he hoped his dining room would be ready for indoor seating by Thursday, but since they have just received confirmation that the indoor restaurant will be able to reopen, there are some preparations, including cleaning. Ciao said they will reopen their dining rooms to indoor service next Monday and Roadhouse Grill plans to do the same.
